Set DESTDIR if you want to install at some other place then where you
will run everything from.

default. Now uses libsensors. Ripped the display formatting code from
sensors (with some modification) but needless to say I've only tested
a single chip. Doesn't support alarms yet. With a bit of work, could
share the display formatting code with sensors so just one source needs
updating. Compiles on my machine.

The Makefile now examine $(LINUX)/.config to see what modules need to be
compiled. It compiles only those modules which were either not configured
in at all, or were built as modules (ie. drivers which are built-in in the
kernel are not built, as they can not be overruled).
The above is still potentially dangerous, if we break the interface of
our modules. Still, it is much better than it was.

the kernel.
* <kernel/init.h> is now included for all modules
* Initialization-time only functions and variables are marked with __init
* EXPORT_SYMBOL or EXPORT_NO_SYMBOLS declarations added

* The i2c package can no longer be compiled as part of the lm_sensors tree
* The archive of the i2c package is removed
* smbus, i2c-dev and i2c-proc modules and headers have been removed; they
are now completely integrated into the i2c package
* The fake i2c.h header has been removed; this also allowed us to remove
the ugly LM_SENSORS and TBD defines.
* A new variable I2C_HEADERS is introduced in the Makefile. This allows
us to install the i2c headers in, for example, /usr/local/include/linux.
* All files now include <linux/i2c.h> instead of "i2c.h" and "smbus.h"
Status: 'make dep' works, all the right include files are found. 'make all'
does not yet work.

These will help those unfortunate people who use Debian or other braindead
distributions which ship with non-matching kernel headers in directories
/usr/include/{linux,asm}. For 'normal' people, nothing needs to be changed.

* Either Phil had not done a 'cvs update', or I forgot a 'cvs commit'; anyway,
the last changes to detect.pl have been ported to sensors-detect.
* Added a rule to the Makefile fragment to install it in $(SBINDIR).
* Added SBINDIR to the main Makefile.
* Deleted detect.pl

This program automatically documents the available features for each chip.
Basically, it translates the data in lib/chips.c back to a human-readable
format.

I finally merged in Adrian's man-pages. libsensors.3 is unchanged from his
version; sensors.conf.5 is heavily edited, not because he did a bad job,
but because his source material was not very well written :-). It should
now tell you more about the config file than you ever wanted to know...

Until now, all installed include files depended on a #defined variable
LM_SENSORS: if it was defined, other files were included as "somefile.h"
instead of <linux/somefile.h>. This was clearly dangerous, and is fixed
now, by automatically deleting the offending lines from the include file
when it is installed.

I added two new make file 'includes': busses/Module.mk and chips/Module.mk
Frodo- You may want to review the makefile structure to make sure that
the system works as you intended.
Note: The docs still need to be updated to reflect the new file arrangement,
but at least it builds!

Everything is in, except the IOCTL hook (which will be pretty simple to add).
It compiles cleanly. It is not tested at all.
Also a very small fix for i2c-proc, and Makefile.

Usage: isadump <ADDR-REG> <DATA-REG>
For the default LM78, this would be `isadump 0x295 0x296' (addresses may be
specified as decimal, octal or hexadecimal).

These are the relatively well-tested files. They allow you to parse a
configuration file, and to build an internal abstract syntax tree.

* Added lib directory; the library will live here
* Added Makefile fragment in the lib dir
* Modified README.directories to include the new dir
* Added lib directory to the fragments the Makefile uses

Several, mostly internal, things changed. Most notably, the install
directories are extended (we'll need this to install the new library).
Also, explicit rules for creating .c and .o files are added.

Object files for executables (as opposed to modules) will now use the .ro
extension; their dependency file is a .rd file. Currently, this affects only
the i2c/eeprom/eeprom program. but in the future, there will be more
executables generated.

on
* Put all EXPORT stuff between #ifdef LM_SENSORS #endif statements.
