The new SMBus PEC implementation doesn't support PEC emulation on
non-PEC non-I2C SMBus masters, so we can drop all related code.

Discard I2C_FUNC_SMBUS_*_PEC defines. i2c clients are not supposed to
check for PEC support of i2c bus drivers on individual SMBus
transactions, and i2c bus drivers are not supposed to advertise them.

Clean up name string usage in 11 i2c bus drivers:
* Use the pci_driver name for requesting the I/O region rather than
redefining a new string.
* Do not initialize the i2c_adapter name to "unset".
This should save a few data bytes here and there.

Hi Sergey,
Actually there was a patch to the 2.6 i2c-ipmi/bmcsensors for this
problem (after Bene Martin notified me of the problem and how to fix
it), but from what I understand Corey re-included the ipmi_request
method in the next version once he learned of a driver using it (it
was removed because there was thought to be no usage). He was eager to
learn when bmcsensors would make it into the kernel so that he could
stop being nagged by the 'unused function police' as he put it .
It might be wise to apply a patch like this in 2.4 to support the
openipmi that went 'wrong', I changed the 2.6 driver to use the
ipmi_request_settime function to no ill effect, but you should
consider that Corey notes that it is preferred to use the old one:
(extract from some e-mail between Corey, Martin and I about the problem):

This is done by not taking care of additional status bits. This is a
backport from Linux 2.6.

<klh@google.com> received Sept. '04.
No changes by me other than include file path fixups.
Compiles, but will not insmod without i2c-core changes
or stubs to add xxx_nolock() functions.
-----------------
Here you go. I apologize for the fact this code is not integrated
into the lm_sensors package structure and thus will require you to
make various little updates. But I really wanted to get this out
before I'm yanked away again, and am pretty sure you can do it much
faster than I can figure out what needs to be done!
BTW the kernel files are built against 2.4.x where x varies; 18 and 19
should work.
Feel free to clean up anything.
