use it to retrieve a specific subfeature by type. While it is slighly
less efficient than looping over sensors_get_all_subfeatures(), it
often makes the application code much more elegant.

for faster main features lookup. One side effect of this change is
that subfeatures can no longer have labels nor be ignored. I do not
think that this is a problem in practice, and actually this makes a
lot of sense.

the rest of the subfeatures. This makes the code more simple, and
prepares for current values to be subfeatures like any others (i.e.
they can be missing.)

get the list of all main features, and one to get the list of all the
subfeatures of a given main feature. This is a more logical interface for
applications to use. The current implementation is admittedly less than
optimal, because the storage structures weren't meant for it, but this
issue can (and will) be addressed later.

each update. The chip list and chip features do not change until
sensors_cleanup() is called, so there's no point in doing the
same work over and over again.

Thanks to Amir Habibi at Candelis for setting up a test system.

IT8712F so there's not much to do. The most significant difference is that
fan speeds are now reported as 16-bit values, without fan clock dividers.
For this reason, I made the fan_divs optional in sensors. I also made the
fans themselves optional, as I noticed that a number of motherboards don't
use (and don't enable) fan3.
I've made a separate section (chip "it8716-*") in sensors.conf.eg, because
new motherboards tend to have different wirings (e.g. negative voltage
lines are not monitored) so this will make for saner defaults.
Thanks to Stian Oksavik for testing.

Please find attached a patch to support the sis5595 with the new 2.6
driver. It should also add support for displaying in4 with a 2.4 kernel.

I found a small bug in sensors and sensord when used with a w83781d
chip. On this chip the alarms for temp2 and temp3 are merged. However
that is not handled in sensors and sensord.
Please find attached two patches to fix that, one concerning sensors and
the other one concerning sensord.

/configure database based on detected/configured sensors,
logs libsensors-processed readings to the database, has a
command-line option for generating a basic rrdcgi script.
Removed sensord from all target because it has an external
dependency on librrd.
This just makes using RRD with sensors easier; you don't
need to figure out what sensors are available and configure
the database with computations that are already in
sensors.conf.
To install:
make install-prog-sensord
To create and start logging to database:
sensord --rrd-file /var/log/sensord.rrd
To create a CGI script:
sensord --rrd-file /var/log/sensord.rrd \
--rrd-cgi /var/www/sensord \
> /usr/lib/cgi-bin/sensord.cgi
man sensord for more details.
Kudos to Mark for doing the hard work ;}

ALERT so you can pick them up in syslog.conf and fire them to
the console, etc. Added support for scanning only for alarms
in addition to scanning regular values, etc. Updated the man
file to reflect the new options, etc. Operation as "sensors"
command is undocumented.

. added support for via686a and other new chips
. added support for alarms and beeps
. updated to log through syslog instead of a custom logfile
. updated so when run as "sensors" (ln -s sensord sensors) it
mimics the existing sensors command except for formatting
. modularized a bit
Yet to do:
. complete support for alarm checking without sensor logging
. signal alarms through syslog level ALERT
. add final support for multivalued alarms
. check up on some questions about existing sensors command
. update manual page inc. notes on syslog usage
. test more fully

default. Now uses libsensors. Ripped the display formatting code from
sensors (with some modification) but needless to say I've only tested
a single chip. Doesn't support alarms yet. With a bit of work, could
share the display formatting code with sensors so just one source needs
updating. Compiles on my machine.
