These macros take care to avoid double evaluation.

Must initialize the save pointer in the parser context, otherwise
strtok_r() will fail on statically built embedded targets.

When integrating libite as a component in another piece of software,
that build system may set VERSION as an environment variable. We do
not want that version to be set as the version of libite.

In (very) modern versions of binutils, for instance v2.25.1 shipped in
Ubuntu 15.10, ar complains about the VERY common `crus` argument. This
patch silences this noise:
$ make -j5
ARCHIVE libite.a
ar: `u' modifier ignored since `D' is the default (see `U')

User of library will likely want to have better control over the default
optimization level. Either way, defaulting to -Os is a lot more "risky"
than, say -O2.

We need to lock down the ABI and do a new release on behalf of
Finit. Finit will have support for using an externally built
libite and libuev, so Finit must lock down to a known ABI.

This patch adds a very simple progress bar I wrote once. It's revision
f98c5d0 from https://github.com/troglobit/toolbox
Also included in this patch is conio.h, a neat little set of macros for
manipulating your terminal using ANSI escape seequences.

Travis does not have `/bin/tree` installed, and since we do not
output intermediate results from `make test`, there is no need
to call `/bin/tree` unless `-v` is supplied to the test.

By setting `ASROOT=1` in a unit test makefile a test will now run as
root, using `sudo -n`.
This patch allows us to simplify the pidfilefn() test.

Do not assume that asprintf() clears the pointer on failure, which
is non-portable. Also add missing asprintf() return value checks.
